An engineer, before being a developer

I am an electronics engineer by training, a graduate of ENSEEIHT, who quickly turned to software development. What I enjoy in this job is as much the code as the system it runs: understanding a helicopter simulator or a metro control room is part of the fun.

I started out in aerospace, at Telespazio, on an Airbus helicopter maintenance simulator — a real-time 3D simulation software. I now work in railway, on the supervision system (ATS) of the Toulouse metro.

Every time, I started from a domain I did not know. It is curiosity and the drive to do things well that let me ramp up and quickly become autonomous.

I also place a lot of value on automation: over my assignments, I have built internal tools and set up continuous integration, to make the team’s work reliable and free up time for engineering. I now work as a freelancer in Toulouse.

Professional experience

C++ Software Engineer (Freelance)

2024 – Present

Siemens Mobility France

Maintenance and evolution of the supervision software (ATS) of the Toulouse metro, lines A and B. Development of C++ components as part of the Line B Connection (CLB) project extending toward Labège, and setting up continuous integration and internal tools to make releases reliable.

Career break

2022 – 2024

19 months around the world

A long-held personal project: 19 months of travel meeting other cultures. A deliberate pause that nurtured my curiosity, my autonomy and my ability to adapt to the unexpected — qualities I put to good use in my assignments.

Software Engineer

2016 – 2022

Telespazio France

Development of an Airbus helicopter maintenance simulator (H135, H145, H160, H225, NH90, AS365, H130): a real-time 3D simulation software for technical training. Reconstructing the behaviour of embedded subsystems from documentation, then modelling it faithfully in real time.

R&D Engineer — Final-year project

2015

Continental Engineering Services

Development of a real-time pilot supervision system (Crew Monitoring System) as part of the European ACROSS project. Designing activity and posture detection algorithms via Microsoft Kinect, integrated into an Airbus A330 cockpit mock-up.

R&D Engineer (Internship)

2014

IRIT

Research project on improving the readability of automatic speech transcriptions by adding punctuation through prosodic analysis, in collaboration with the company Authôt.
